Meet JOSEPH

   Senator Thomas is Chairman of the board of Directors of Bountiful Blessings Broadcasting, Inc.; District President Mississippi Baptist Laymen’s Movement; Senior Deacon, Chapel Hill M. B. Church; Former Board member, National Development Foundation, Jackson State University; Former Board member, American Public Power Association (APPA), Washington, D.C.; Former Chairman of the Yazoo City Public Service Commission; Former Vice Chairman, Mississippi Real Estate Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board; and Former Board member Mississippi Strategic Economic Development and Planning Committee.

    Senator Thomas was born in Yazoo City. He is married to the former Elizabeth Wilburn. They have three children: Joseph Thomas, Jr., Kirk Thomas and Whitney Lear Thomas. He is of the Baptist faith.
